🧠 Enhanced Image Search: See and Search

This is a big one! Blimpt's ability to understand images during a web search has been completely supercharged.

Previously, the AI's understanding was limited. Now, when you attach an image and ask a question, Blimpt performs a detailed analysis of the image content first. This description is then used to conduct a much more accurate and relevant web search.

Try it out!

• Attach a photo of a flower and ask, "What kind of flower is this?"
• Upload a screenshot of a weird-looking tool and ask, "What is this used for?"
• Share a picture of a landmark and ask, "Where can I find this?"

The results are now significantly better and more helpful!

🎨 Simplified & Streamlined Interface

To create a more focused and user-friendly experience, we have streamlined the app's layout.

• Unified Chat View: We've removed the separate, pop-out message panel and the setting to switch between "vertical" and "horizontal" layouts. The app now features a single, unified interface where your conversation and the AI's responses are presented in a clean, consistent view.
• Reliable Resizing: The main window now resizes more intelligently and reliably to fit the content, providing a smoother and less jarring experience.

This simplification removes clutter and lets you focus on what's important: your conversation with the AI.

🚀 Performance and Stability Boost

We've done a lot of work behind the scenes to make Blimpt faster and more stable. Many core components of the application have been rewritten to improve efficiency and reduce the chances of errors. You should notice a snappier, more responsive app overall.

🛠️ Other Improvements & Fixes

• Reliable Message Sending: We've improved the underlying mechanics of the input box, making sending messages more robust.
• Conversation Loading: Your chat history list now loads more efficiently, especially if you have many past conversations.
• Bug Fixes: Squashed several minor bugs, including one that could cause issues when starting a brand new conversation.

First things first, we've changed our name to Blimpt. It's the same great app you love, but with a new name that reflects our vision for a fast, intelligent, and versatile AI tool.

📸 The All-New Screenshot Tool

This is our biggest new feature! You can now instantly capture any part of your screen and use our built-in editor to annotate it.

• Crop: Select the exact area you need.
• Draw: Use a pencil, rectangle, or arrow to highlight key information hit Enter to apply.
• Add Text: Add notes and comments directly onto your screenshot.
• Attach to Chat: Seamlessly add your annotated screenshot to your conversation for the AI to analyze hit Enter key.
• Double Enter Key In order to apply crop and attach to the conversation.

The input box has been supercharged! You're no longer limited to just typing.

• Paste Images: Simply copy an image and press Ctrl+V in the app to attach it.
• Attach Text: Paste any text from your clipboard to add it as a distinct attachment.
• This is perfect for asking the AI about anything on your screen—get help identifying a product in a photo, understanding a confusing document, or figuring out what a strange notification means.

⌨️ Your Keys, Your Rules: Customizable Shortcuts

You asked, and we listened! Head over to the Settings page to customize the application's hotkeys. You can now set your preferred shortcuts for:

• Opening the main Blimpt window.
• Activating the new screenshot tool.

We've rebuilt large parts of the app from the ground up to improve performance and usability.

• New Interface: The main window has been redesigned with a more organized layout and smoother transitions between views (Chat, History, Settings, etc.).
• Enhanced Message List: Long conversations now scroll silky-smooth, thanks to a completely new virtualized list that can handle thousands of messages without slowing down.
• Under-the-Hood-Improvements: Countless internal changes have been made to make Blimpt faster, more stable, and more reliable.

• Message List Order: Resolved an issue where messages in the conversation view ([List View]) were displayed in reverse chronological order (newest first). Messages are now correctly displayed chronologically (oldest first) based on their timestamp.
• Conversation Switching Stability: Fixed a potential application crash that could occur when switching views or selecting conversations, particularly when no conversation was active. Improved handling of conversation data access.

✅ Fixed

• Application height issue on large textarea inputs has been resolved to ensure proper resizing.
• Paste button no longer acts as a submit trigger — proper input behavior restored.
• Removed the line that deleted copied text from the clipboard, preserving user clipboard content.
• Improved message list rendering for better performance and responsiveness.
• Fixed issue where successive messages would remove the latest user message unexpectedly.

🔍 In Progress / Not Included

• General app slowness still under review.
• Exploring improved approaches to render the message list more efficiently.
• "Fix rewrite again" task requires clarification and will be addressed in an upcoming release.
